Thanks so much for visiting 13 Spools!

 

My name is Amy Garro and I'm a stay at home mom and quilter. I graduated from Notre Dame in 2009 with a Theology degree and do some light writing, but for the most part, I fill my time with giggles and stitches. My two sons (Charlie and Johnny) are both under two, and my husband (John) does a great job making sure I have some crafty time.

 

I love designing quilts and would probably rather do that than even sew - but someone has to make everything I sketch! I started crafting at age 4 and sewing (on the machine) at age 7, but mainly sewed garments with the occasional quilt thrown in. I started focusing on quilting in 2011 and haven't looked back since!

I love both modern and traditional quilts, but lean towards designing and creating modern quilts. I like traditional quilts for the beds in our home, and spend way too long nitpicking on them, so you won't see very frequent traditional finishes around here!
